Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to stop by my website. As many of you know, starting March 15th, I am volunteering in Kenya for four months through the Global Volunteer Network. Volunteering abroad has been something I have had a strong desire to do, and thought very hard about, since high school. While it's surprised some, it feels like a long-time coming for me, and I'm so very excited (and nervous) to finally be doing it!
To give a little more information as to what I'll be doing in Kenya, I have requested to spend two months of my stay working at an orphanage and the other two months teaching. Ultimately, they will place me wherever volunteers are most needed at the time and I'll find that out (as well as the village I'll be living in and my living arrangements) thirty days before my start-date.
Unfortunately, between program costs, flights, vaccines, and the overall cost of being abroad, volunteering can wind up being very expensive. So, in order to afford it, many volunteers fundraise and that's exactly what I'm doing here.
On February 6th, I am throwing a fundraiser at the Elks Lodge in Manchester, CT from 7pm to 11pm. To get details on the event, as well as to buy a ticket/donate, you can click the tabs on the left-hand side of the website.
I am so excited for both my trip and the fundraiser and I am so, so, SO appreciative of any and all help!
(A special shout-out and thank you to my dear friend, Meaghan Donlon, who set this site up for me! Thank you, thank you!)
Thank you all so much!
